I wouldn’t call that normal… probably take a gpfs.snap and open a PMR to get the quickest answer from IBM support,

One of our scale node shows 30-50% CPU utilisation by mmfsadm while filesystem is being accessed. Is this normal?

(The node is configured as server node but not a manager node for any filesystem or NSD)
