AH... I see, instead of `maxMBpS=default -N all`    try  a specific 
number.  And then revert to "default" with a second command.
Seems there are some bugs or peculiarities in this code.

# mmchconfig maxMBpS=99999 -N all
# mmchconfig maxMBpS=default -N all

I tried some other stuff.  If you're curious play around and do mmlsconfig 
after each mmchconfig and see how the settings "evolve"!!
