I would think about to use a dedicated GPFS remote cluster.

Advantage: 
 - If required the remote cluster could be shutdown without to impact
the home cluster.
 - You can add additional types of access onto the remote cluster
 - You could implement a HA solution to make the access types HA.

but you must be aware that you need a GPFS server license.
